Suggest Remedy For Pain In Lower Right Rib Cage Post Injury
12 years ago, suffered blunt injury to lower right rib cage and liver..ran full force into doorknob when door didn t open. Hurt quite a bit, so went to er and had some sort of imaging done, might have been just x-rays. Anyway, feel now, the tip of that rib and corresponding spot on liver tender. Have colonoscopy end of month scheduled, but gastro dr said if I had a spot on my liver I wouldn t feel it. Can that particular spot have caused like a callus, hasn t bothered me but I can feel it tonight when I toss and turn onto my stomach. Thanks
Liver tissue is not painful. Only if the liver enlarges and the capsule around it gets distended, the patient starts to feel pain.
I do not believe the pain you are having now is related to trauma 12 years ago. I would recommend you to have a check with your doctor to better determine the cause of the pain and the needed treatment.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
