Suggest Remedy For Pain In Ribs After A Liver Biopsy
I am experiencing some difficulties after having a liver biopsy 4 days ago and I m not sure if I should go in to be seen. My side is hurting and I have a hard bump right where my ribs stop, but not where they did the surgery, it is more towards the back. I am also so weak. My body is so tired like I have worked out super. hard. I feel worn out just walking across the room. Could you please give me some advice? I have an appt on the 3rd and I just wanted to know if this is serious enough to go in earlier than that or be ok waiting. I also had back surgery recently (March 5) I had a laminectomy.
Probable causes of hard lump at the right upper quadrant are hematoma, liver tumors like hemangioma, focal nodular hyperplasia, hepatocellular adenoma, papilloma, gall bladder tumor, fibroma, hepatic lipoma, hepatic cysts and hepatocellular carcinoma.
It can be diagnosed by detailed clinical examination and few tests like ultrasonography abdomen and if required CT abdomen. So you can wait until your appointment date and need not go on emergency basis.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
