Suggest Remedy For Pain In Ribs And Back With History Of Sickle Cell Anemia
My sister is a patient of sickle cell anemia now she is 31. she always caught bye the high wbc count which goes upto 45000. now she is having pain in her ribs and in her back. what is the solution for this? her pain is unbearable. can u suggest me any medicine for this?
Severe pain in ribs in patient of sickle cell anemia could be due to ischemia of rib bone. Ischemia is lack of blood supply and it can occur in sickle cell anemia due to sickling of red blood cells in blood vessels. I suggest you to consult a hematologist for clinical assessment for reversal of sickling process if the symptom is caused due to sickling.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
