Suggest Remedy For Pain In The Cervix After Application Of Silver Nitrate

My daughter just had a pap smear. She was told she has a friable cervix. The doctor proceeded to apply silver nitrate to her cervix without asking. My daughter is in quite a lot of pain now. I have read that silver nitrate is only for external use. Please advise.

Hi,
Pain might be due to taking smear with friable cervix which might have caused soreness and irritation.
There is no problem applying silver nitrate, this application is external only and not internal as vaginal and external cervix mucosa is external.
