Suggest Remedy For Pain In The Right Foot

My right foot bothers me from time to time . After two days of a nagging pain I woke up this morning and can not walk on it . It is on the inside by my arch and on the top of my foot. I massaged it and put ice on it and it makes it feel a little better but it is a burning pain. Could this be gout? It is not my toe. This happened a few months ago also. I did not it anything and it s not a bite. Any information on what this could be? Pleas email me @ YYYY@YYYY . Thank you. MH

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Burning pain in foot is typical of nerve related problems like peripheral neuropathy. Diabetes, vitamin B12 deficiency can cause nerve damage which can present as burning pain.Kindly check both your fasting and postprandial blood sugar levels. Vitamin B12 and folic acid supplements should be taken regularly to reduce the burning sensation. You can see improvement in your symptoms in a few weeks after starting treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
