Suggest Remedy For Pain In The The Center Of Cervical Spine

I ve been moving clothes around in my closet to prep for movers, I suddenly had a few sharp pains in the center of my cervical spine... Two days later, it is brushed on my spine and very tender and a bit of tingling in my shoulder and out to my hands. I did not have a fall, bump or severe trauma, just lifting a bit for s long period of time, but nothing too heavy... Strain? Sprain? Ruptured disc???(I did have neck surgery in that area in 1999.)

Hi,

Pain over cervical area, if sudden onset and associated with tingling / numbness over arms might need evaluation to look for disc misplacement and impingement on nerve roots. This is especially important given the history of previous surgery. If simple analgesics like Acetaminophen taken for 3 days does not help, or if any weakness of arms, kindly discuss with your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
