General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the wrist pain is in concern with possible withdrawal effect of steroids. The Practin contains Cyproheptadine used for stimulation of appetite in various digestive disorders, hence its withdrawal will reduce the level of appetite and secondarily weight reduction as in your case. So far as the wrist pain management is concerned, that depends upon the level of discomfort on pain scale of 10.

If it is of mild category (below 3 out of 10), heating pad application is sufficient to cure it. If it is of moderate category (between 4 to 6 out of 10):
Analgesic intake
Assisted physiotherapy
Nutritional care
Give best results.

The most severe category (7 onward) require starting of dexona with other supportive care under strict medical guidance and supervision over a period of time.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
