Suggest Remedy For Painful Blister On Chin

I have a fever (what I was told I had) blister on my chin. My thyroid glad is hard as a rock, only one side. The blister is bad and I m not sure what do to make it go away? Or I guess the best procedure? I have to work 14 hrs a day for the next week. Are these 2 things related enough to be really worried? Thank you. Sincerely Keith H

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a cold sore which is commonly related to herpes simplex virus. I suggest using an Acyclovir cream for local application. I also suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
