Suggest Remedy For Painful Cut Around The Nipple

I used clotrimazole and betamethasone dipropionate for a cut burning scan forming on my right breast around my nipple for the third time. I have thyroid and haven t been taking my meds for a while. Is thyroid the cause of the wound? And am I at risk of breast cancer?

Hello,

Thyroid is in no way related to your painful nipple cut of right breast. It may be caused due to:
1) Trauma
2) Insect bite
3) Allergic contact dermatitis
4) Eczema
5) Irritant contact dermatitis

Treatment depends upon the cause of sore. As you have been getting it recurrently, please do consult a dermatologist for detailed clinical examination and specific diagnosis and appropriate treatment. As it's painful, it's not breast cancer most probably. Still you need to consult a dermatologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
