Suggest Remedy For Painful Knees

I have had pain in my knee and down the side of my leg for more than two weeks. It is better than it was, but it is hard for me to get up out of a low chair, it doesn t hurt when I walk, but is painful when I bend it, heat makes it feel better. It has a burning sensation when I go to bed and anti inflammatory and otc pain pills have had no effect. Any other suggestions? Should I wrap it during the day with an ace bandage? General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to osteoarthritis.

For further assessment you may require MRI knee after orthopedic surgeon consultation.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition.

Use knee cap.

Use support while walking.

Avoid squatting position

Hope I have answered your query...
Let me know if I can assist you further.
