Suggest Remedy For Painful, Plugged Ear With Distorted Hearing

HI my ear was in a lot of pain yesterday, but it got better through out the night, I woke up this morning and it was still a little plugged but it was a lot better. Although I noticed peoples voices are sounding distorted like if they were speaking into a fan.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain it seems that you have an Acute ear infection leading to pain, plugging and distorted hearing can be due to fluid accumulation behind the ear drum..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can advise you an Otoscopic examination of the ear and in case if infection is confirmed he can advise you to take antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseuddoephadrine and oral decongestants..
Antibiotic and steroid ear drops can be advised for relief..
In case if there is fluid in ear manual drainage or Syringing can be done for faster relief..
Avoid excess water exposure to ears like swimming and diving, do not pick the ears and also avoid exposure to loud sounds as it can lead to damage to ear drum..
