Suggest Remedy For Painful Rashes On Body Due To Allergic Reaction To Prednisone
I had poison sumac on my hands, neck, back and legs. After a few days it was getting worse so I went to the dr. They prescribed prednisone. After 5 days I developed a rash all over my chest, back and belly. It hurts and doesn t look any better after 2 days. The dr says it s an allergic reaction to prednisone. How soon will the rash go away? Or what can i do to help it? I can t take benefits durning the day because of my job.
As per my clinical experience, allergic reaction to prednisone is rare but difficult to control. Guidelines for better recovery: - Tub bath with lukewarm water added lavender oil and Epsom salt - Avoid excess or prolong sunbath - Tablet Diphenhydramine twice a day after meals - Avoid other analgesic till possible to avoid idiosyncratic reaction possibility - Control of blood sugar to prevent secondary bacterial infection
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
