Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that painful swollen gland under the
jawbone can be due to 2 main causes:
1.Submandibular lymph node enlargement or
submandibular lymphadenopathy..
2.Submandibular
salivary gland enlargement due to infection or clogged duct due to formation of crystalline stones or foreign body imapction..
It does not seems to be due to
champix but due to infection or clogged ducts..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral surgeon or an ENT expert and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x-ray,
MRI Scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of infection a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkillers along with cool compresses can help..
In case f clogged duct of the gland if the obstruction is superficial manual removal can be done but in case of deeper placed obstruction surgical removal is advisable..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
