My 6 months old baby boy has been coughing for about a week now, it has now gotten worse since about 2 days and he s been breathing faster each time the cough gets serious. He s using cefixime but there seems to be no improvement. What else can I do please?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, greetings. Thanks for the query. It looks like your child is suffering from a lower respiratory infection. Since the cefixime is not causing any improvement, I suggest you take him to the local paediatrician as your child maybe in need of hospitalization. a chest X-ray and intravenous antibiotics.
I find this answer helpful
