Suggest Remedy For Persistent Cough With Phlegm

YYYY@YYYY ....56 years old healthy male...asthma under control for several years. Have cold, coughing, for 5 days low grade fever felt on the mend but started non stop coughing today and feeling crummy again. Not horrible like the flu just crummy tired...good appetite...some phlegm...on Mucinex DM...any recommendations

As you mentioned that you are an old asthmatic patient ( asthma is under control ) but you didn't mention that whether you are taking medicine for asthma or not taking.
Since now for 5 days , you are having cough , phlegm , fever and taking mucinex DM , this is only a symptomatic treatment , not specific for asthma .
So in my opinion take some bronchodilator as well some antibiotics .
You may have allergy as well as infection .
So consult a physician and take his opinion as physical examination is important .
Hot coffee as well steam inhalation will provide instant relief.
