Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past week, I'vehad a cough I can'tget rid of. Totally got rid of a cold. Day's later, coughing started. Had a migraine @ the beginning of the week that kept me out 2 days. Don'tget much sleep due to the ccoughing. I'm so tired, can't keep my eyes open.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that persistent cough after having cold is due to Upper Respiratory Track Infection and can be due to irritation in throat secondary to infection.. You should take cough syrup containing Dextromethorphan, Guaifenesin and Phenylephrine.. You should also do steam inhalation, do warm saline gargles and use a humidifier in your room.. Suck throat lozenges.. Avoid spicy and chilled foods.. Drink plenty of water and maintain a good Oral hygiene.. Sop on plenty of warm fluids..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
