Suggest Remedy For Persistent Diarrhea Post Mild Bout Of Sunstroke
I m a 6 2, 230lb man of 46. I believe I had a mild bought of sunstroke (high fever, sunburn) from exposure last Saturday, and I have had persistent diarrhea constantly even since. I am replenishing my fluids and taking ensure-type supplements - how long might this persist for?
The treatment of persistent diarrhea is as follows: 1) Continuous replenishment of fluids and electrolytes 2) Oral rehydration solution ORS sachets will be available at drug stores and these are to be mixed with water and consumed 3) Tab. Lomotil can be taken to control diarrhea 4) Avoid fruits and other fiber rich foods and stool softeners. 5) Diarrhea gets controlled in a day or 2 with Lomotil? 6) If Lomotil doesn't improve your symptoms, tab. Loperamide can be taken 3-4 times in a day
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
