Suggest Remedy For Persistent Elevated BP With Headache And Nausea

My blood pressure has been high for 3 weeks. It has ranged from 180/116 to 149/105. My medicine was changed 2 days ago but my blood pressure is still elevated. I have had a continuous headache and nausea as well. When I ve gone to the doctor, he does t act as though it s too serious. However, when I get online, I read quite to the contrary. What should I do. It s currently 149/105 with medication. My readings have been 176/111, 180/109, 174/108 and at its highest, 180/116. I am a Caucasian female that is 39 years old. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Welcome at HCM
i have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns....
If I were your attending physician I will first rule out causes for secondary hypertension while controlling your blood pressure like renal artery stenosis, adrenal gland pathology and other hormonal abnormality...
Based upon the readings which you have mentioned about blood pressure after medications I feel very satisfied with it.
You should continue with your medications and decrease salt intake along with regular exercise.
Get a baseline ECG along with the fasting lipid profile as well sa random blood glucose level to rule out diabetes. It is very judicious to look for these modifiable risk factors.
Hope your query is adequately addressed
Regards
