Suggest Remedy For Persistent Fever

hello i got sick on saturday with what i thought was the flu had minor aches and a very high fever between 101-103.7 about 2am sunday morning my fever was so high i got the shakes and vomited a few times and had a very bad headache i fought my fever as best as i could with over the counter meds until yesterday the fever would just not go away....so i went to the doctor and he said it was not the flu but a very bad sinus infection. He gave me a prescription called Cephalexin 500mg take 3 times a day for ten days. I started to feel better about 45min after taking that and a claritin-d. my problem is i am dizzy and have a headache which i know are side effects of the drug, but my fever just wont quit one hour its normal 98.6 then the next its 99.9 then 101 again is this normal?thanks cat

Well come to HCM
If this is sinusitis then this may take at least five days to come around, if the given antibiotic is not responding well then this can be manages with Tab Amoxicillin with clavulanic acid 625 mg twice in day, it would be nice to have hot drinks and steam inhalation would be much helpful, and this is nothing to worry and every thing would be fine soon, take care.

Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic .

I need to know since how many day you have been taking Cephalexin and claritin-d because antibiotics will take 2-3 days to show its maximum efficacy . But if its more than 3 days then it means that antibiotics are not working properly and may require change .

Also I hope you have been tested for other infections that are prevalent if not ask your doctor to test for it .

Also do steam inhalation 2 times a day , it will help in clearing Sinus Congestion.
