At the beginning of the month, I went to a walk-in clinic where I was told I had a mild sinus infection. I was given flonase and something symptomatic for my cough. I also had a hoarse voice, rapid strep and throat culture came back negative. I have had a cough that has never quite gone away. I first pulled a muscle on the right side of my body from coughing, and then a week and a half ago, I pulled the muscle on the left side of my body during a coughing fit. I returned to the walk-in clinic where I was told my cough has not gone away due to post nasal drip. I was given prednisone and cough syrup with codeine. I am still coughing, and while both muscles are still sore, those have gotten far better. It is a very frustrating, itchy, mostly dry cough that does not produce much. This morning I woke up with a very sore mouth, like I may have several canker sores forming all along the back of my mouth and have felt drained(like the start of getting sick). It has been over a month since I have felt like my normal self but I am able to work and do regular functions. I would, however, like to get back to exercising. I was told over the phone from my regular doctor office that it was just something I need to wait out. Maybe that is the case, but I am very rarely sick and have never coughed anywhere close to this long. Just kind of looking for advice on where to go from here....
