Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
he gets frequent nose bleeds hes had 6 in the last 24 hours. he tries to lay down to stop them and he feels like it is going down in his throat. he coughs once they slow down and a clot of blood will come out and he'll start bleeding again. the bleeds are pretty heavy in flow
Thanks for your query . There can be many reasons for frequent nose bleeding like rupturing of blood vessels of lining of nose ,polyp in sinus or nose and some genetic causes like osler weber rendu syndrome.
The type of nose bleeding you mention above pointing towards a seious problem . So i would suggest you to consult ENT specialist (ear ,nose, throat) without any delay for proper examination and get it treated
Give ice pack to nose and cheek several times a day , keep your head elevated above the heart level while laying down and hold your nose pinched for five minutes .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
