Suggest Remedy For Persistent Pain In Head

Hi, I have had pain in my head, especially up the back of my neck, starting at my shoulders and into my head for 5 years now. I am so frustrated. I have been to every doctor you can imagine, including psychiatrists, all kinds of therapists, physical therapy, pain management, etc., etc., etc. Everyone seems to think it is a nerve pain problem, thus, I had a neck fusion 4 years ago - it did not help. This has consumed my life and I had to retire my post as Postmaster at the USPS because of it. I am on a merry-go-round of constant Doctor appts. and my primary care doctor seems like he has just given up on me. It was at my last pain management appt. where I was receiving yet another round of facet injections (that do not seem to ever work) when one of the doctors asked me if I have ever been checked for temporal arteritis. Well, I have never heard of it, but checking into it further, I have so many of the symptoms. It appears to be very serious and I need to be checked for that, but I don t know what doctor to go to. My head pounds every day and I ve even been rushed to the hospital because of it - I always feel like I m ready to have a stroke or my head is about to blow off. I cannot function. Everyone seems to think I m depressed and that must be causing the pain - it is quite the opposite. The pain has caused me to be depressed. I need help, but don t know who to turn to. What doctor specializes in temporal arteritis? Thank you.

Hello,

In my opinion, we should go for managing two symptoms right now. You are suffering from stress and muscular pain. For the time being focus on relaxing exercises. In addition, use muscle relaxant such as Tab Neubrol Forte. Use an ortho mattress for shoulder and back pain. Mild painkillers such as Tablet Brufen 400 mg can be taken if you are not asthmatic or having any kidney disease otherwise use Tablet Panadol 500 mg. Use medicines and exercises for a week and provide feedback.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
