Hi, I broke my ankle 2 years ago, and I had an operation back then; anyway it was still causing me so much, therefore I had to have another operation back in May of this year. It is still causing me so much pain. ATM I am wearing a moonboot, with a partially weight bearing. I thought the pain would have gone away by now. It s going across on the top of my foot; and I am getting pins and needles in there, as well. Can u help me please

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the persistent pain in ankle with history of fracture and surgery indicate significant anatomic insult over the part. The pins and needles do favor compression of underlying nerves responsible for sensation of the foot region. An MRI with nerve conduction study is best way to diagnose the condition and treat accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
