Suggest Remedy For Persistent Rectal Pain With External Hemorrhoid

Hi Doctor, I have rectal pain since 4 months. It started as an external hemorrhoid. small external bulge appears after motion but reduces quick. but I don t have bleeding or persistent lump. A surgeon inspected but could not find any bulge or fissure. I have been advised to continue with Anusol Ointments. I have plain in the anus. It increases by evening after sitting and working for 8 hours. If I lie down for 15 mins it reduces. I have to use Anusol Ointment or else immediately the pain ensues severely. I feel like my natural rectal lubrication is reduced. Kindly suggest what my condition might be. Thanks Naveen

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi Naveen,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have gone through your description and understand your concern.
Pain in the anal canal could be due to presence of external hemorrhoids bearing its effect on the anal sphincter.
Kindly continue to use the ointment what you are using.
Since constipation is one of the precipitating factor for recurrence of pain in the region, you need to consume soft and easily digestible diet with rich in dietary fibres. Consume good quantity of water everyday.
Kindly get your per rectal examination done by another Surgeon or Proctologist to diagnose the cause for it, so that it can be adequately treated.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
