Suggest Remedy For Pins And Needles And Numbness On The Leg

I have recently had a mini stroke at the age of 52. It gave me pins and needles and a numb sensation in my right leg. They also said my right arm and leg had weakness compared to the left. I am now on clopidogril and simvastatin. I am now experiencing swelling quite badly in my opposite foot and ankle ie the left. Should I be worried?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Was there any history of trauma or fall? Is the area painful / tender? Acute onset swelling on one leg needs evaluation to rule out DVT (deep vein thrombosis), although this can suggest a sprain / contusion / soft tissue infection, depending on the clinical details. Kindly discuss with your doctor without delay. Meanwhile, keep the leg elevated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
