Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am unable to pass my feces has it seems to be hard. It is causing some bleeding as I try to release it. I have been drinking alot more water as I am treating a bladder infection. The bladder infection maybe caused by Nortriptyline dosage. I am also now on a pain patch (Butrans) which I have been using for three weeks now. The bowel problem started last week, then I was ok, then went back to the hard feces. How do I get the hard feces out?
You are most likely having anal fissure. Use Lignocaine ointment and 0.2% GTN ointment at the site of defecation for 3 weeks. Use more fiber. Take Ispaghula Husk 2 tablespoonsful after every meal.
