Hi, I gave birth 3 months ago and got preeclampsia a week after, which has made my anxiety worse than usual. I ve been having headaches (with pins and needles in both sides of head and at back of head, near neck, and headache feels vice-like) ever since giving birth (OB-GYN thinks it could be the birth control shot I had for first time after delivery; PCP says it s all tension and migraine-equivalents, as patterns move when I look at them now). All this is new- I had headaches before having a baby but nothing like this. Occasionally I feel a dull thumping/pulsing in my ears, which scares me as that s what I had all the time when I had preeclampsia, before I got diagnosed. I am frightened I have hypertension now and am risk for stroke, which I was told several times when I had preeclampsia (that I was at risk of stroke). Can this all just be anxiety? Congestion? I have a blood pressure monitor at home but am too afraid to use it as I had a few spikes in BP after preeclampsia and had to go back into hospital, and the thought of it being high makes me too upset and worked up, which makes it more likely to be high! I m 29, and really want reassurance as still don t feel safe in my body.
