Suggest Remedy For Recurring Anal Itching With Liquid Oozing Painful Lump

Hi, I have a question about anal itching. About a month and half ago I had severe anal itching and after a day or so a lump appeared. The lump then caused a leakage of something that was not really fecal matter but liquidy. It wasn t pus. It was clear with a slight brownish tint. The lump was not painful until I wiped aggressively due to the itching, then the lump became painful due to irritation and broken skin. It went away in a day or 2 on its own. We have ticks really bad and I thought maybe a tick had attached there that I hadn t noticed, I will say I remain constipated due to methadone treatment. I have been addicted to pain pills for around 10 years and 2 years ago I started going to a methadone clinic so Im sure it isn t from the methadone as I have taken it for years. I take Miralax to relieve the constipation so I don t strain during a bm very often unless I ve missed a day or 2 of Miralax. Nonetheless I don t have bm s very often because before I started using Miralax my bowels had gotten in the habit of only going every couple days. Either way, I only go every 3 or 4 days but the stool is still very soft. This is why I thought it may have been a tick because I don t go very often so I thought I may have had a tick there and just didn t notice. Well the problem has returned. Now I m certain it s not a tick bite, there s no way I would have been bitten by a tick twice in a month or 2 on my anus. So now I m wondering what it is. It s the same as last time, intense itching for a day or so and then a small painless lump that itches really bad. The itching is easing up but the lump is still there but it appeared just today. I don t think it s hemerroids as the lump is painless and I don t bleed during a bm unless I wipe very aggessively for a few minutes. Im not sure what the lump looks like, I haven t looked at it. I don t have insurance and can t afford a doctors visit. I will say my hygiene is not the best but I do try to keep my genital area clean. I use unscented baby wipes sometimes and I have used them for years also so I don t think it is because of them. I use regular toilet paper with no put fumes or additives so I don t think it s them. I think it may be due to bad hygiene as well as sweat and moisture from the heat but I haven t seen anywhere online where it says that anal itching and scratching can cause painless lumps that go away on their own after a couple of days. Please tell me what is wrong with my anus?? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Your symptoms do not suggest hemorrhoids since it usually involves pain and bleeding, constipation rather than intense itching which you have mentioned. Repeated anal scratching can also cause such lumps and itching which will subside on its own. Pin worm infestation is a common cause of anal itching in many children. It is less common in adults.

I would suggest you to take complete blood counts, blood sugar levels and rule out any worm infestations. Antihistamines can be taken at night. In case of excess dryness or itching, moisturiser can be used.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
