I live with two pre-school-aged children, who are taking turns getting a cold. One child started a few weeks ago with a cough and ended up with an ear infection and is taking antibiotics. The other child started with a productive cough a couple of days ago.I started with my cough about 4 few weeks ago (along with the first child), and ended up with a chest cold (cough, congestion, fatigue, phlegm that was thick and yellow). I did not take any medication and the cough decreased and the mucus was becoming clear. However, it seems to be making a comeback. Now I have a productive cough again with white/light yellow mucus, worse in the morning and later evenings. My lungs sound clear during the days.My question: do I need to consider taking antibiotics or treat this as an allergy or even two different cases of colds that happened back-to-back?? Thank you.
