Hello and welcome to HCM,
Fever with history of dental extraction 7 days back could be due to tooth infection which has entered the blood.
Septicemia is the condition when the infectious agent gains entry into the blood stream.
Septicemia is usually associated with weakness, malaise, lethargy etc.
I suggest you to get a blood culture of your grandfather if the fever is not being controlled.
Presence of infection will be identified on this test and thus appropriate antibiotic can be used for the infection.

Thanks and take care
