Hello, Thank you for asking at HCM. I care fully read your question and understand your concern. If you are pregnant and you have a positive leukocyte esterase test in urine you need to have a microscopy of the urine also. Sometimes the dipstick is very sensitive and gives false positive results. Some white blood cells might also come from the vagina and confuses us with urinary infection so another important test is urine culture. According to the results of the culture will be determined if there is infection and which antibiotics to be used if needed. If there is infection than you will need to repeat urine culture after treatment to make sure it totally healed up and also regularly every month till you deliver even if you have no urinary symptoms. The reason is because pregnant women may have infection that is without symptoms and still hurts them and if you had one infection during pregnancy you will need monthly urine cultures routinely. Make sure you drink plenty also and void as you need, do not try to hold the urine. and if any concerns you will need to see your provider. Hope this helps and answers to your question
