Suggest Remedy For Recurring Spot On Throat Causing Cough And Watery Eyes
I have a spot in my throat, on the right side, that periodically gets irritated for no apparent reason. It occurs multiple times throughout the day but is not a constant pain or irritation. When there is a flair up, it causes a feeling of needing to cough and also causes watering of only the right eye. I can try to fight the cough but it makes the eye watering worse. The flair up also comes with a couple sneezes. Drinking water does not subside the flair but it is alleviated with some sort of lozenge or hard candy that coats the spot in my throat. Issue has been on going for 3-4 months. The number of daily flair ups varies, today there has been 3 so far and yesterday there were 5 plus 2 during the night while sleeping
Your symptoms could be related to local irritation of the mucosa or local infection. Another possible cause to consider would be glosso-pharingeal neuralgia. I recommend consulting with an ENT specialist for a physical exam and performing a throat discharge bacterial culture.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
