Suggest Remedy For Redness And Stinging Sensation After Suffering A Lime Burn

I got lime burns today from pouring high strength concrete. Burns on my knees and shins. After an hour it burned and I noticed redness. I flushed with water and then wrapped in guaze.I took advil.I called doctor clinic and spoke with nurse who said to rinsewith cold water which I did. . When I got home my wife read to wash in 2teaspoons of vinegar per quart of water. That helped. It is still red and stings. Should I lay cloths with vinegar solution on the burns overnight or cloths with cool water on skin or wrap in guaze?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that there might be having just superficial burn producing redness and pain.
Nothing to worry, with application of cold water or ice pack application within a day or two it will be alright.
If there is blister formation then you might require antibiotic medicine course for 3-5 days.
For pain you can take advil as and when required.
Keep local part open.
Ok and take care.
