Suggest Remedy For Sever Throat Pain With Difficulty In Swallowing
i have q very sore throat, rever, and its painful to swallow. I went to see the doctor and he gave me penicillin this morning. I tested neg for strep but she wasn't able to get a good sample. Is there anything I can do to limit the pain? How long does it normally take to heal
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms if you are tested negative for strep throat then there is a probablity that you have a viral throat infection and at times it can be a viral infection with a secondary bacterial infection..
Nothing to worry, continue taking penicillin as it is an antibiotic and will prevent any secondary bacterial infection. For relieving pain you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller Ibuprofen. Do warm saline gargles. Steam inhalations and using a humidifier in your room will further soothe the throat. Take a soft diet and avoid spicy and hard foods. Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
