Suggest Remedy For Severe Abdominal Cramps During Periods
Hi! My name is Kaisa. I am a 19 year old female that is still a virgin. I have been on birth control pills for over 10 months now, to help regulate my period. In high school, I used to have very painful and irregular periods that I would miss school, and rarely hang out with friends. I occasionally have pain inbetween periods that require me to take a few Midol for relief. I have not had very severe menstrual cramps since before I was prescribed the birth control. Lately, my severe cramps have returned. What should I do? Will I need to have a pelvic exam? I have a lot of anxiety over having one done because I m afraid it will hurt, and although I feel very confident in the doctor I go to, he is a man. I am too scared to see anyone else for help, though. Please help!
Examination would be needed, this may only be an abdominal examination. The doctor would decide if a pelvic examination is also required. It may not be absolutely necessary.
An ultrasound may also be suggested to take a look at the uterus and surrounding areas (tubes, cervix etc)
I hope this helps
