And I finished them but has a green phelmy cough with green pieces when I cough and have pain severe at times in my lower back on both sides - should I go back to my doc as I don t want to waste her time? Many thanks Carol
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe chest infection which could be due to lung infection/ bronchitis/ tuberculosis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you not to ignore it at all as cough persisting so long along with back pain is an alarming symbol. Need not to worry. I would suggest to consult pulmonologist as soon as possible to find the right cause of this and get chest x-ray done. Go for pulmonary function tests as well. You should give anti inflammatory medication such as Levocetirizine. Till then you should take steam inhalation. Take cough expectorants and plenty of fluids along with multivitamin tablets. Use mist humidifiers in room. Take decongestants and mucolytic agents.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
