General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your daughter's problem can be most likely due to allergy. Avoiding exposing to possible causative agents like cold , dust , pollen , animal hair etc will be helpful for this. If she is clear from all these then it can be any internal allergens. Allergy skin tests will be helpful to identify the causative allergens.
I usually advise antihistamines like levocetirizine and mast cell stabilizers like monteleukast as prophylactic measure in my patients with such condition. In case of breathlessness inhalers with beta 2 agonist like formeterol and corticosteroid like budesonide can be used in need also. A consultation with your physician is well appreciated for this. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
