Suggest Remedy For Severe Hair Loss And Itchy Scalp

Hi, I m Rasith,22. I have been suffering from hair loss for the past 3-4 years. And sometime, I will be facing itching feeling in my scalp. I have consulted a doctor who asked me to use Ketoconazole and zinc pyrithione lotion . Will it be good to use it? or any kind of side effects will be there? I will be glad if someone helps me. Thanks in advance

Hi,

You have fungal infection / lice infestation of scalp. The medicines prescribed are local medications without any side effects (unless you are allergic to ingredients) / lice needs application of anti lice lotion application before head bath. Very severe fungal lesion, not getting relief would need oral medicines along with local application.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
