Suggest Remedy For Severe Hairloss With History Of Thyroid Cancer

Hi , my name is Janie, I have been losing my hair really bad lately, I had thyroid cancer in 2009 and had it removed, I have been on synthroid ever since then . 125 mcg . Well about 8 mos ago I started seeing this other Dr and he has been changing my level of meds . First down to 112 mcg then 3 mos later down to 100 mcg. Mow my hair is coming out like crazy. I am a mess.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Post thyroidectomy it is essential to take adequate dose of levothyroxine so that all the symptoms which may occur because of inadequate thyroxine are under control. Usually a dose between 1.6 micro gram to 2.3 mcg per kg is given as total replacement. Plus it is essential to maintain TSH level <0.1 mU/L to 0.5 mU/L. So please check your current TSH levels. Because if adequate thyroxine hormone levels are not there then hair fall may continue. Thanks.
