Suggest Remedy For Severe Headaches

My husband has been on coumiden for about a year now for DVT. The coumiden causes him severe headaches every day. He gets Toradol shots weekly to give him a little relief, but its not helping much anymore.. Also, when we do attempt to have sex(once every few months), he gets a really bad headache. He has an appt with a hemolotoligist June 1, and we really need some help finding something else that may help him instead of the coumiden. Is there any other blood thinner we could suggest to his doctor?
