Hi,
Tinea cruris is a common condition which causes itching and discoloration of skin. It is a
fungal infection usually present in moist and warm area of the body or in an area of the body having more sweating usually due to tight fitting clothes. It is commonly present in groin, genitals, inner thighs buttock area. Avoiding moisture and
excessive sweating will help in resolving this problem, apart from the treatment with
local antifungal creams, lotions and / or oral anti-fungal medicines.
In cases of severe itching, some anti- itching drug like Cetirizine or Loratadine etc., may be needed. Oral anti-fungal may some times have to be taken for a long time, may be 4-6 weeks. If still, the problem is not resolved, then you are advised to consult your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment accordingly, particularly for joke itch,
allergic reaction, psoriasis, lichen planus, lichen sclerosus or even pin
worm infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
