Suggest Remedy For Severe Itching On Vagina And Clitoris

I went to a doctor because I thought I had a yeast infection. Turns out that not what I had. She told me to use hydrocortisone cream on and around the vagina. So I did. Then 2 days later it was hurting worse than when I went to the doctors. At first it was the outside of my vagina itching but now my clitoris is on fire and itches like crazy. What do I do?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Severe itching of your genital area could be due to mixed infection (bacterial and fungal).
Kindly do the following to overcome it.
1. Clean the area with antiseptic solution like Povidine-iodine twice daily.
2. After drying, apply Mupirocin cream topically.
3. Take Tablet.Levocetrizine once a day for itching.
4. Take a course of antibiotic Tablet.Metronidazole orally.
5. Apply antifungal medication as single dose like Fluconazole in the form of vaginal cream or pessary.
6. Wear loose fitting undergarments and avoid friction in the area.
Maintain good genital hygiene and abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subside completely. Gradually, the symptoms should get better and subside completely.
