Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am now almost 10 weeks pregnant with my second baby. I have been having the normal symptoms but vomiting has been the major problem. Can't keep anything down, 5 min after I eat it's back out. I have been going to my doctors 3 weeks in a row and have been given glucose. I have also been prescribed anti nausea. haven't been able to go to work for almost a month now.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe morning sickness . Well the most severe form of morning sickness is hyperemesis gravidarum. If you’re vomiting many times a day, unable to eat or drink without being sick ( as you also mention ) , then you have hyperemesis gravidarum. There are many factory responsible for this like high levels of hormones, including oestrogen , fluctuations in blood pressure or altered metabolism of carbohydrates. I would suggest you to eat a few dry crackers or plain sweet biscuits before getting out of bed in the morning , eat small meals regularly , avoid cooking , drink as much as you can manage like lemon drink or take vitamin B6 supplements. If condition doesn't get better then consult gynecologist , who may prescribe antiemetic drug along with other treatment .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
