Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain After Cervical Spine Fusion

my father in law had a two level cervical spine fusion on tuesday and the doctor is trying to send him home tomorrow. he still has a catheter and is on severe pain meds. no one at the house is able to lift him to help him go to the bathroom. should the doctor be doing this?

The discharge of the patient depends on previous condition of the patient and present recovery irrespective of what the patient can do or caretakers can do. Not sure whether it's the right decision to send him home from the details provided but I think the way out of this is that you get in touch with the caretakers at the health care center to learn the correct way of handling him in day to day activities.
