Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain In A Blackened Tooth Residue
I had my eye tooth upper right snap in my bridge which necessitated in the removal of the bridge. The tooth stump looked black and dead but the dentist put a filling over the end of the stump. Today, Some months later I am suddenly hit by excruciating pain and I am pretty sure it has abscessed. The dentist closed here an hour ago and won't be open until the morning and the pain I am feeling is increasing with time very fast. I am on some pretty strong pain killers for my spinal fusions (6) and they are not touching it. I had some Flucloxacillin, so I took 1 x 500 mg capsule which I had for an ingrown hair abscess a few months back. Will this get me thru to the morning ? Many Thanks
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms when the stump of tooth was black on bridge removal it is a clear indication that it was decayed and by now the decay must have progressed to the nerves causing severe pain.. You should consult an Endodontist and get evaluated and he can also advise you to get an IOPAR [x-ray] done and in case of deep decay causing nerve involvement Root canal treatment of tooth followed by replacement of bridge has to be done..
As of now you can take a higher painkiller like Tramadol for pain relief. Do cold compresses over the cheek. While lying down keep your head slightly raised as it can cause less of pain..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
