Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain In The Ear Post Injury From A Slap
Hi doctor! I got slapped on my left ear last afternoon. There is no bleeding or any hearing loss but there is severe pain. I m able to notice a slight swelling on the outer ear and it is red. Is it necessary to visit a physician for the same? Also, can there by any possibility for hearing loss in the future?
As per your query you have severe pain in the ear post injury from a slap . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons , but in your case the symptom occur probable due to ear drum perforation due to blow to ear . Well thsi very common problem and severity depends upon the intensity of blow . There may be complete rupture of partial rupture . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor will examine ear with otoscope or order CT scan to rule out other causes like ear infection or fracture of any wall of ear . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics at least for a week , anti inflammatory or may recommend patching of ear drum or tympanoplasty .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
