Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain In Upper Left Quadrant
I am having severe pain in my upper left quadrant. But no one can seem to help me. I am at my wits ends. Plus I also just went thru surgery for Aclasia (sp) I have had a Ct but nothing shows other than gas. NOTHING I take or do relieves it. I am ready to put a knife in it to get the gas out!! It is so bad that it is even into my chest and is worrying me. Do you have any help or ideas??
Pain in the upper left quadrant can be related to many medical conditions. In my daily practice it often is related to appendicitis. An abdominal ultrasound would be very helpful to confirm the diagnosis. Meanwhile, I suggest to use an over the counter medication to treat bloating such as Simethicone. I also suggest to use spasmolytics for the pain such as Buscopan. I recommend to avoid food that can trigger the symptoms such as spicy food or to much caffeine.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
