Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a wisdom tooth that is deteriorated and is causing me great pain and agony. I don't have dental insurance and most places where I live require that. I have been to the emergency room several times and nothing was done. What do I do? I really want this tooth out asap.
As per your complain if you have a decayed wisdom tooth which is causing you pain the best way to get relieved of it to get it extracted as the wisdom tooth has no role in chewing and if I would be your treating dentist i would advise extraction of the tooth although Root canal treatment can be a way to save it..
As you have severe pain treatment has to be done for permanent cure and in case a dental insurance is required you will have to get it done ..
By the time you get through it you can take a course of medicine like Augmentin 625mg and Tramadol both twice daily for control of infection and pain (to be taken only if not allergic).. But should not be taken for more than 7 days and get an extraction done after that..
Hope this information helps..
