Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I AM A 71 YR OLD WOMAN WITH EXTREME EXCESS HEAD SWEATING.. I CAN START SWEATING DOING NOTHING BUT STANDING AND HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH ANOTHER PERSON. I HATE TO GO GROCERY SHOPPING BECAUSE MY HAIR STARTS DRIPPING AND I AM MISERABLE. IN 2009 I EXPERIENCED A POST-OP ELIAS AND WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR ALMOST 1 MONTH. I HAVE HAD NUMERIOUS SURGERIES IN THE LAST 7 YRS. IN 2001 I HAD RECTAL CANCER AND WAS TREATED WITH CHEMO AND RADIATION. CANCER FREE SINCE THEN. I WOULD BE SO HAPPY IF I COULD GET SUME SUGGESTIONS AS TO TREATMENT FOR THE HEAD SWEATING. THANK YOU
As per my clinical experience, the sweating head is most likely in concern with hyper secretion states of sweat glands of forehead due to various possible reasons as receptor affection, over reaction to heat exposure or others. This may be in concern with previous cancer therapy, hormone homeostasis disturbances or others. However, a detailed physical examination and systemic evaluation is mandatory to proceed for the final wording of comments to cure it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
