Suggest Remedy For Severe Tooth Pain Post Dental Filling

Hello, I recently had a filling in a tooth that had a hole in it. The dentist trimmed the tooth and the gum that was growing through it and then added the filling. That was on Wednesday and since then I ve been in so much pain is there anything I can do until I see the dentist on Tuesday?

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that severe pain in your tooth that has been recently filled with a dental filling material as it was decayed, the pain is occurring as there is a possibility that the tooth was deeply decayed and during cleaning the decayed portion of the tooth, the nerves are exposed and filling is placed accidentally over the nerves..

As the nerves have got irritated there is severe pain and discomfort caused due to nerve inflammation..

You should consult an oral physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and x ray can help in diagnosis..
In case if the filling is placed over the nerves then the filling has to be removed under local anaesthesia and the tooth has to be treated with root canal treatment followed by antibiotics and painkillers..

As of now if pain is moderate you can take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen while for severe pain you can take Ketorolac or Tramadol..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
